What we do

Fibrosis is a common term for various chronic progressive diseases with a shared biology. Presently, fibrosis is under-diagnosed, incurable, and often deadly. The economic‑, social- and medical burdens imposed by fibrosis are similar to those imposed by cancer.  For these reasons, we developed  Fibrobodies. These high-tech ‘magic bullets’ are designed to selectively deliver radioactive tracers or powerful pharmaceutically active molecules to the cells that cause fibrosis. Fibrobody-tracer conjugates and Fibrobody-drug conjugates are first-in-class modalities to diagnose and treat early and advanced fibrosis.

Who we are:

We are a clinical-stage biotechnology company located in the Amsterdam Zuid area. We employ a small and motivated team of specialist researchers who work embedded in the newly built Amsterdam Imaging Center of Amsterdam UMC, and the department of cell biology of Utrecht University.  There, we have full access to state-of-the-art chemical- and biochemical laboratories and equipment. We are completely self-sufficient in our R&D activities which cover biochemistry organic (radio-) chemistry, biochemistryradiochemistry, bioconjugation, and preclinical in vitro- and in vivo studies. In the coming two years we plan to execute our first clinical (tracer-) study whilst expanding our (pre-) clinical pipeline.

The Vacancy:

As a conjugation chemistry technician you will be at the heart of LinXis, marrying organic chemistry to biology in order to establish Fibrobody-tracer and Fibrobody-drug conjugates. You will characterize these conjugates using a variety of analytical methods, ranging from basic protein tests to complex molecular assays and (functional) in vitro models. You will work closely together with all other LinXis sub-teams (organic chemistry, biology, non-clinical R&D, and CMC) and external partners involved in the clinical development of Fibrobody-tracer and Fibrobody-drug conjugates.

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate:

  • Holds a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in biochemistryorganic chemistry and has affinity with organic and/or medicinal chemistrybiochemistry and bio- (macro-) molecules
  • Has hands-on experience and affinity in biochemistry and is willing to expand experience towith organic/medicinal chemistry synthesis and biochemical conjugations
  • Has hands-on experience and affinity with (bio-) analytical methods (MS, HPLC, ELISA).
  • Is qualified to work with radioactive materials (Dutch level 5B).
  • Is flexible but also precise, and quality-minded
  • Is interested in working in a small and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
  • Is skilled in chemistry but interested in adjacent areas like disease biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, and quality systems (GMP).

What we offer:

  • The experience to work in a high-energy biotech startup, in a one-of-a-kind research facility.
  • A full-time position (40 h) under a permanent appointment.
  • A competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience.
  • 8% holiday allowance, commuting allowance, pension allowance.
